Sign up by April 12 to Run for a Seat on CANNDU

CANNDU will hold elections for five seats on Saturday, June 11, 10am-4pm at the Ascot Public Library, 120 W. Florence Ave, Los Angeles, 90003. Voting is easy! Just show up at the polls and complete your paper ballot.

Run For A Seat: Candidate Registration is February 27-April 12

Now is the time to consider running for a seat on CANNDU. Elections will be held for the following seats for four year terms:

  • Chair: Stakeholders who live, work or own property in the neighborhood and who are 18 years or older.
  • Corresponding Secretary: Stakeholders who live, work or own property in the neighborhood and who are 18 years or older.
  • Parliamentarian: Stakeholders who live, work or own property in the neighborhood and who are 18 years or older.
  • At Large Representative: Stakeholders who live, work or own property in the neighborhood and who are 18 years or older.
  • Community Interest At-Large Representative: Stakeholders who are 18 years or older.

Duties and Commitment of a Board Member

Time: 15-20 hours per month to help the community by serving on the Board.

Attendance Responsibilities: The Board needs quorum to conduct business, meaning we need you to be in attendance at monthly Board meetings, special meetings as necessary and committee meetings.

Mandatory Trainings: As an elected representative, you are subject to complete necessary training such as Ethics, Funding, and Code of Conduct (about 3-5 hours for all three).

Why should you run? To make government more responsive to our community, increase civic engagement, and make a difference in our neighborhoods!
